How is the accuracy level of electromagnetic flowmeter classified?

2025 04/03

1.Accuracy level classification
①Common accuracy levels: generally including 0.1 level, 0.2 level, 0.5 level, 1.0 level, 1.5 level, 2.0 level, etc. For example, an electromagnetic flowmeter with a precision of 0.5 indicates a measurement error within ± 0.5%.
②High precision level: Some high-precision electromagnetic flow meters can achieve a precision of 0.1 or even higher, mainly used in applications that require extremely high flow measurement accuracy, such as scientific research experiments, high-precision chemical production processes, etc.
③Ordinary accuracy level: Electromagnetic flow meters with an accuracy level of 1.0 or below are suitable for some industrial applications and general civilian fields where accuracy requirements are not particularly strict, such as ordinary water supply and drainage systems, general industrial fluid transportation, etc.

2.Classification basis
①Measurement error: This is the main basis for the classification of accuracy levels. Measurement error refers to the difference between the measured value of a flowmeter and the actual flow rate value, usually expressed as a percentage of the actual flow rate. For example, the accuracy level of a certain electromagnetic flowmeter is 0.5, which means that under the specified working conditions, its measurement error does not exceed ± 0.5% of the actual flow rate.
②Repeatability: Repeatability refers to the degree of consistency in measurement results when multiple measurements of the same flow rate are taken under the same measurement conditions. A flow meter with good repeatability has low dispersion of measurement results and relatively high accuracy level. Generally speaking, high-precision electromagnetic flow meters require repeatability errors within ± 0.1% - ± 0.2%.
③Linearity: Linearity refers to the degree to which the measurement characteristic curve of a flowmeter is close to an ideal straight line. An electromagnetic flowmeter with good linearity has a closer linear relationship between the measured value and the actual flow rate, which facilitates accurate measurement and calibration. High precision electromagnetic flow meters typically require a linearity error within ± 0.2% - ± 0.5%.
